Ak'lad disk from the 'front'
The Ak'lad disk is a disk of plasma, energy and super heated gas inbetween the crux hyperes and the ferlianty galaxy. The origins of this disk are still unknown but the current leading theory is that 3-4 neutron stars collided and instead of merging to form a black hole, they destroyed each other and created a giant disk. The disk is 20 lj in diameter and 1.1 lj think (thinest) and around 2 lj thik in the centre. The density of the disk is so great that it is impossible to go through it at FTL. 1 small research station is inside the disk and is used to find how it formed.
